Communication?? Yes its important !

Yes, I agree takes a lot of guts to talk to someone about how you feel for them and how would you like to see things in a different way. Be sure you express it in the right way. Only if we speak can our opinions will be taken into account.

if you want to communicate effectively, defend what you say. Once you have said something you can never go backward; you must back it up. Pick up the words that will express exactly what you are thinking of. Do not beat around the bush and keep the other person solving the puzzle for you. Do not expect the person to be as good as to read your mind all the time.

Communication is not always about talking, one must also be a good listener. If you do not listen and understand what the other person is saying then all goes down the drain. Understanding plays a very important part here. This is how a trust and a bond is built in a relationship and a balance is maintained.

If you are having serious communication issues, write down your feelings in forms of letters and cards and send it across to the person. In this way you have communicated your feelings also and plus you ended up doing something nice for your loved one. Do not make this a daily habit as it will not be appreciated all the time.

Power of Media

Unknowingly or knowingly the power of media has taken new heights in our lives. A minute ago something happens in some other part of the world, we instantly know about it either as email alert of if we have the app of any news application.

Facebook is such a strong media in today's times that even if we dont happen to watch the news channel we get to know from facebook. How?? Status message of friends and close people. People have to put up their views on facebook whether it is required or not. Sometimes I feel people have started to do a few things just so that they can show off on facebook like buying a new dress or visiting a nice place for the weekend. The pictures have to be there on facebook.

It is impossible to get off completely from the virtual world if you wish to discontinue yourself from it and keep your life private. I dont see that happening anytime soon.

Google has made people's minds so depended on itself that if Google dosent have an answer to something we wish to know, only then people start thinking. I do not know if it is good or bad but definately media and internet has changed our lives.

It has become impossible to survive without a proper internet connection these days. Everything has an application now which is easily downloadable from any OS. Mostly..!

There is so much information flow around us all the time that people keep reading and keep themselves upto date with all the happenings in and around them. It is a good thing and yes it has helped people in lot many ways.

As long as media keeps it true and unbiased it is so useful that it is unbeatable with anything.
This reminds me India has won Cannes Lions Festival for Outdoor Media for The Times of India campaign, feels very proud for our advertisers and the creative minds that have gone into making this happen. I hope we win more and more in other categories as well.

Media has the power to built and destroy the reputation of an individual, organization or itself. It is time when media has to take a stand and decide which way it has to make its future.

Uniting India with Branding

We get to see a lot of brands making advertisements having South Indian characters in them. Be it Mahindra, Finolex or Idea ads where is father says to a group of kids playing holi not to put colours on him since he is a South India, but he ends up playing with them.

It is a nice and fresh way to get advertising new ways to get connected with different cultures in India. There was a time where Gujratis were famous and the same culture was shown in all the serials from Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi to Khichdi and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

Eventually, Marwaris started taking over with the huge Rajasthani Mahals and the food in films like Paheli.

Since Punjabis were ruling the brands for a long time it is nice to see some change and the risk the advertisers are taking but trying to potray different cultures of India.

South Indians are ruling right now since most of our Bollywood movies are remake of South Indian movies and they happen to do really well at our Box Office also. Now is the time to wait and watch if our Bollywood stars playing South Indian characters will woe the audience or not. Ra.One did not make much of an impression now is the time to see if Chennai Express can change that.
